Revised Community Participation Plan
Central Coast Council invited the community to have their say on Council's draft revision of the Community Participation Plan (CPP).
Council adopted the existing Community Participation Plan on 25 November 2019, which sets out how and when Council will engage with its community on planning projects.
This plan has since been updated to incorporate recommendations from a Councillor planning workshop held in March 2020, legislative changes due to the introduction of Central Coast Local Planning Panel and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The revised draft CPP will continue to work alongside the Central Coast Engagement Framework, adopted by Council in January 2017, to ensure the community continues to be informed about planning matters and development proposals that affect them, as well as have meaningful and considered opportunities to participate in strategic planning.
The revised draft Plan has been designed to make participation in planning clearer for the Central Coast community by identifying opportunities and timeframes available for community input on strategy development, plan making and proposed development decisions.
It also details our community participation objectives including utilising the knowledge, ideas and expertise of our community, improving the processes that generate two-way engagement and creating a shared sense of purpose, direction and understanding to manage growth and change, while preserving local character.
The revised Community Participation Plan was placed on public exhibition for 28 days commencing Thursday 15 October until Thursday 12 November 2020.
